it’s an invasion!

…of the best kind!  Today marks the beginning of Marine Week 2016.  Lower Broad and all over Nashville we’ll be swimming in khaki and blue.  Here are some of the scheduled activities for today:

Mural Painting Art Project at Douglas Corner Café, 2106  8th Avenue South, 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Static Display of amphibious assault vehicles, artillery, and more located on the green by Ascend Amphitheater, 301  1st Avenue South, 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.

Marine Band San Diego Concert performance of a wide range of music from country to funk, top hits to classic rock… at Riverfront Park, 100  1st Avenue North, 2:30p.m. to 4:30p.m.

Evening Colors… Marines lower the American flag on lower Broadway at 7:00p.m. this evening… Court of Flags, 1st Avenue at Broadway

Night at the Opry… Marines will be special guest of the Opry’s performance tonight.

And if the Opry isn’t your style, you can join the Marines at the Nashville Sounds Home Playoff Game… First Tennessee Park, 19 Jr Gilliam Way.

Then the Marine Band, Sound Strike, will perform at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, 422 Broadway, from 8:00p.m. to 10:00p.m.

Rounding out the day’s activities will be TAPS performed by a member of the Marine Band at the Court of Flags, 1st Avenue at Broadway at 10:00p.m.
